April Chang (Yu-Ying Chang) combines her study of traditional Chinese medicine/Acupuncture/Herbs, and extensive training in massage therapy and lymph drainage techniques/lymphatic massage, to help patients regain a sense of well-being. Her over 15+ years of extensive and continued experience includes service at Lone Star Oncology, Austin Cancer centers and Northland Medical Clinic. She has helped many patients with chronic diseases, who go through cancer treatments, kids and elderly who has difficult health issues. She has an incredible passion for healing and she will walk through the challenge with you to achieve balance of body, spirit and mind.
April Chang first came to the United States from her native Taiwan to further her education. After receiving an MBA from University of Massachusetts in 1991, she moved to Texas to pursue her interest in the healing arts. She studied massage therapy at Austin School of Massage Therapy and Lauterstein-Conway Massage School in 1993-1994, and she has been a registered massage therapist since 1993. She then graduated from Austin School of Oriental Medicine where she studied acupuncture therapy and Chinese herbal medicine. She obtained her Texas state license to practice acupuncture and Chinese medicine in 2002. She also has advanced certification in Complete Decongestive Lymph Drainage and Compression Therapy from the prestigious Vodder School since 2004.
April specializes in acupuncture for cancer patients, as well as for pain and various chronic issues. She has worked in internal medicine clinics and cancer clinics for over 15 years. She is highly experienced in the use of Complete Decongestive, Lymph Drainage and Compression Therapy. She has been a contracted lymphedema therapist for Hospice Austin since 2008. April practices medical massage, acupressure, reflexology, myofascial release, deep tissue, hot stone massage, and craniosacral therapy.
April has a natural talent and passion for health and healing. Working with you to restore the balance of body, spirit and mind is her passion.
She is licensed by the Texas State Medical Board in Acupuncture & Chinese Herbology, and is a Vodder School certified MLD (Manual Lymph Drainage)Therapist. She is licensed by the Texas Board of Medical Examiners, for massage and acupuncture.
